halfbrokenwings: (broken body-singing soul)

003 - [open/ the thermal pools]

[There is the distinctive sound of a violin being tuned coming from an area near the thermal springs. Or is it more inside? First one note sings pure, then the next. Finally, the bow drags across the strings in harmony.

Before the sounds of it had faded away, a song begins.

Isabella is in the happiest place she could be at the moment, fully enthralled in the music and no longer feeling the pains of her wings thanks to the medicine from Sycora. Her eyes are half-closed and she steps into a dance that matches the tune of the strings, while continuing to play.

Little exists in that place of music but the notes of the song and the motion of the body for the bard. There is a smile on her face, if anyone is watching, and it reaches to the deepest parts of herself. This was home; with a fiddle in her hand and playing the songs in her heart.

She had finally found a violin with a richness of sound that matched the one she lost, and she felt a little more whole in acquiring it. Worries, fears, and any doubts that she had melted away as she continued to play. Then there was a pause, and a beat later where the song picks up, she laughs. Now begins a celebration. A sure boldness is in her motions and is evident in how she moves and plays. Different this was than, from the polite, submissive gestures that she seems to carry everywhere else.

Besides the frogs, does she have an audience? Will they approach? ]

Lively would be wonderful.

[Anything that isn't sad would be awesome.]

He was. He taught me to play the violin, but I'm afraid I'm very out of practice.

[Her eyes brighten with an idea. The music will have to wait a moment more.]

Raoul? Sir? The keep has other violins, you can practice here. If you wanted to, I could help you? I would enjoy playing with another person.

[My that was bold! But it had been a very long time since she played with anyone else and she missed fiddling with other bards. It was always more fun in groups!]

[Oh my. Something besides moping over Christine to occupy his time? Sounds awesome.]

I would like that. It may take some time before I can competently play with you, though, and I would hate to mar your playing with my own.

[Truthfulness aside, Raoul is pretty delighted at the prospect of something to do, and he did enjoy the lessons when he was young.]

[She smiles and waves the bow-hand in a gesture of denial. ]

If you have had lessons when you were younger, you and your master have already done most of the work, sir. When your fingers begin to recall where the strings are, I am willing to gamble that it would not be too long until you were able to teach me the songs from where you are from.

[Already this was looking to be a happy diversion, but she would REALLY enjoy learning new music too. She was so very excited.]

I hope so. Where would I find an instrument to borrow?

[He hasn't made any indication of moving to get one yet, however. Did she mean now, or would she like to continue this concert before lessons?]

There is a large selection in the Bower of the Keep. I am sure we would be able to find a instrument that agrees with you, sir.

[She is girly squeeing internally. You have made one happy Bard, Raoul. ]

Would you like to find one now? Or, in a little while?

If it suits you, I'd prefer sooner rather than later.

[Patience is for other less important people.]

Please, lead the way.

we're off to see the wizard...

As you wish, sir!

[Oh this is so exciting!

She turns and finds the case that the instruments had come in. She places them back in the case, picks it up and flashes Raoul a grin.]

This way then, Raoul, sir!

[And so begins their quest: to the Bower!]
